Job Summary:
The Boom Truck Operator is responsible for the operation of a boom truck equipment as required by project operations, as well as its basic preventive maintenance.
Detailed Job Description:
- Conducts a thorough check of the equipment before and after operation on a daily basis.
- Checks all safety devices and hoisting cables of the crane and reports abnormalities or the need for replacement.
- Checks all shackles, sling belts and cables regularly before operations and immediately report to superior for observed damages or wear and tear.
- Secures lifting permit before operation.
- Properly assembles crane boom and accessories based on the job requirement.
- Performs lifting and transferring of various types of load using the equipment as required by project operations.
- Accounts delivered items coming from central warehouse to project site, vice versa.
- Ensures that the equipment is operated within the limits of its specifications as indicated on the equipment manual.
- Ensures that the equipment is positioned and set-up properly before proceeding with lifting and transferring of loads.
- As a safety measure, operates the equipment only when a rigger is providing support.
- Ensures that the equipment is properly parked and shut-off on the designated location after operation.
- Ensures the cleanliness of the interior, exterior and accessories of the equipment is maintained at all times.
- Assists in the basic preventive maintenance of the equipment.
- Ensures that no alterations/modifications of any kind is made on the equipment unless approved by PED Management.
- Monitors SMR of equipment and gives feedback to the immediate superior for the next PMS schedule.
- Reports any findings during checking or operating the equipment to the immediate superior for proper action.
- Follows traffic rules when driving along roads.
- Follows established safety guidelines, procedures and safe equipment operation practices.
- Performs other related job/duties as may be assigned by the superior from time to time.
